Whenever you try something new, some people always give reasons why they can’t do it. Unfortunately, I feel that this is a widespread phenomenon in Japan.

Of course, unless you take any action, you will not be able to break through the status quo. Are those who only give reasons for not being able to do something satisfied with the status quo and do not feel the need for change? I don’t think so, but even if they were happy with the status quo, don’t they really need to change?

In today’s world, the pace of technological innovation is fast, and uncertainty is getting high. In such a situation, I believe that we put ourselves in a critical condition by being averse to change. By the time you realize it, it is already too late.

It is a common analogy, but Darwin also said, “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.”

There is also another situation. When you encounter difficulties, large or small, you give only reasons why you cannot solve them. If any problems do not occur at all in our daily work and life, they will be replaced by robots and artificial intelligence in the future, especially. Even when we encounter difficulties, I believe that humanity’s great value is the ability to think of a way to solve problems and then execute the solution.

We should be sensitive to the trends of the world. Without bending our convictions, we should always think of “how we can do it” and implement it instead of looking for reasons why we cannot do it. We will be able to adapt to the coming lifestyle changes with AI and other technologies.
